FAQ
Where does TaYA operate?
TaYA’s current activities are concentrated in Addis Ababa and Oromiya regions. We have small projects in the Benishangul region. We are also a plan to operate in Amhara, Tigray, and Southern Nation Nationalities and Peoples Regional State and plan to grow and expand our activities in these regions of Ethiopia.

How does TaYA fight HIV/AIDS?
TaYA focuses on prevention and behavioral change. Our approach utilizes a triangle framework of Education & Training, Networking & Partnership, and Mentoring. Our experience has shown that young people respond to the ideas and support provided by these types of thorough and comprehensive programs

Does TaYA have any special themes to its activities?
TaYA’s 2009-2011 Strategy emphasizes the themes of gender equality throughout all its activities and environmental issues within its job readiness. These themes reflect additional emphasis that is needed because of the current state of the problems that we are working to address. For example, the rate of HIV/AIDS transmission is particularly high for urban young women. Because of this TaYA is providing extra mentoring efforts for young women within its youth clubs. Similarly, as it gathers performance data, all metrics are disaggregated by gender.
